Instagram Collab Posts: What They Are and Why They Fail
Collab Posts allow two creators to post the same photo/video together, sharing reach and boosting both their discoverability. When collab posts stop working, creators can’t collaborate, limiting growth opportunities. In Spain, this feature sometimes glitches.

Requirements for Collab Posts
Both accounts must: be on Instagram (not Facebook only), have public accounts or mutual follow status, be 18+ years old, not have the other account blocked or restricted. Meeting all requirements is the first check before troubleshooting.
Fix 1: Ensure Both Accounts Are Updated
Both collaborators must have the latest Instagram version. If one account has an older version, the collab invite may not appear or function correctly. Have your collaborator update their app before trying again.

View Contact OptionsFix 2: Collab Invite Not Received
After sending a collab invite, the recipient should check their DM requests and notifications. Collab invites sometimes go to message requests rather than main DMs. They have 14 days to accept before the invite expires.
Fix 3: Account Restrictions
Accounts with recent policy violations may have collaboration features restricted. Check Settings > Account > Account Status. Any active restrictions will be listed there with their duration.
Fix 4: Try a Different Post Format
Collab posts work with feed photos, carousels, and Reels. If the feature isn’t working for one format (e.g., Reels), try a static post instead. Some format-specific bugs appear in newer app updates before being patched.
