KeymasterMy Instagram account was hacked two days ago. The hacker changed both my email address and phone number so I cannot use the normal recovery options. Instagram keeps sending the verification code to the hacker’s email. I have tried the “Get more help” option but I am stuck in a loop. My account had over 4,000 followers built over 5 years. Please help – what steps should I take?

KeymasterIf your Instagram account was hacked and both your email and phone number were changed, use the “Get more help” option on the login screen. Tap “Forgot password?” then “Need more help?” — Instagram will guide you through a video selfie verification process to confirm your identity. This is the official recovery path when you no longer have access to the email or phone on the account.

KeymasterAlso check your original email inbox — Instagram sends a message saying “We noticed a change to your account” with a link to reverse the email change. This link stays active for a short window so act quickly. If you missed it, the video selfie route is your best option. Make sure to do this from a device and location you normally use, as Instagram uses this to verify your identity.
