KeymasterMy Instagram account was disabled without any warning or explanation. I did not violate any community guidelines that I am aware of. When I try to log in it just says “Your account has been disabled for violating our terms”. I submitted an appeal through the in-app form three weeks ago but have heard nothing back. Is there another way to escalate this or contact Instagram directly?

KeymasterWhen Instagram disables your account, you should see a notification on the login screen with an option to “Request a review.” Tap that and follow the steps — you may be asked to verify your identity with a photo ID. This is the primary appeal path. Be honest and clear in your appeal; Instagram’s review team looks at whether the disability was a mistake or a policy violation.

KeymasterReviews can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. If you don’t hear back, you can try submitting another appeal through help.instagram.com. Avoid creating a new account while your appeal is pending — Instagram may view this negatively. Keep checking the original login screen for any update on your case status.
